An all-star collective led by Big Star’s Jodie Stephens have booked a 2024 tour of the US and Europe to rejoice the fiftieth anniversary of the group’s sophomore album, Radio Metropolis. Stephens can be backed by a lineup comprised of R.E.M.’s Mike Mills, Wilco’s Pat Sansone, The Posies’ Jon Auer, and Chris Stamey of The dB’s.
The “Radio Metropolis (& Extra)” tour will characteristic the quintet taking part in the album in its entirety and kicks off on August twenty first in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It’s going to proceed with stops in Memphis, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC earlier than heading to Europe for reveals in Barcelona, Oslo, and London. See the complete schedule under. Forward of the anniversary tour, Stephens’ Huge Star Quintet have a handful of reveals with Wilco’s John Stirratt subbing for Mike Mills.
This isn’t the primary time Stephens has toured with Mills, Sansone, Auer, and Stamey. In 2022, the collective launched into a 50th anniversary tour for #1 Record.
