Chicago noise-rock band Melkbelly are again with their first new music in over three years. The quartet has shared a 7″ single that includes the tracks “KMS Express” and “Precious Cargo.” Hearken to the brand new songs beneath (by way of Exploding in Sound).
Based on Melkbelly drummer James Wetzel, “KMS Specific” and “Valuable Cargo” had been created “immediately in response to the void of reside exhibits.”
Singer and guitarist Miranda Winters added:
It’s been nearly 4 years since Melkbelly’s final studio album, Pith. The band’s snarling 2020 rock album featured the notable tracks “Humid Heart” and “LCR.” Since Pith, Melkbelly have been pretty quiet—partially attributable to the pandemic interrupting their document launch plans—aside from a contribution to Simply Having a Wonderful Compilation, a vacation album organized by Father/Daughter and Wax 9 Information that includes Melkbelly’s cowl Everclear’s of “Hating You for Christmas.”
